What I Wear in London in Spring

London in spring is one of my favorite times to visit. The city feels lighter, cafés spill out onto the streets, and everything looks softer. But the weather can change quickly, which makes layering essential.

When I pack for London in spring, I keep things simple. I focus on pieces I can rewear, combine in different ways, and feel comfortable walking in all day.

These are the outfits I would pack again without hesitation.

Full Day Sightseeing

For long days walking through Notting Hill, Covent Garden or along the Thames, comfort is everything. I usually start with wide leg jeans and a soft cardigan, then add a lightweight jacket that protects against wind without feeling heavy.

Good sneakers are non negotiable in London. The city is best explored on foot, and I always choose shoes I know I can wear for hours.

I keep accessories minimal but structured. A classic black handbag makes the whole outfit feel intentional, even if the base is simple.

Museum and Coffee

Museum mornings are one of my favorite parts of a London trip. For this kind of day, I wear the same wide leg jeans with a simple white tee and a soft cardigan layered over it.

The key in spring is flexibility. It may feel warm when you leave your hotel, but colder near the river or later in the afternoon.

I like keeping this look clean and neutral, with simple gold jewelry and a classic watch. It feels relaxed but still polished enough for lunch afterwards.

Effortless Dinner Outfit

Evenings in London deserve a little more effort.

I never pack a completely separate evening wardrobe. Instead, I reuse my jeans and swap out the top and shoes.

For dinner, I pair my wide leg jeans with a more refined blouse and simple flats. Changing from sneakers to sleek flats instantly makes the outfit feel more elevated.

A brown handbag adds warmth and makes the look feel softer than an all black combination.

This is what I would wear for dinner in Soho, a wine bar in Notting Hill, or a relaxed restaurant in Marylebone.

Travel Day

Travel days are about balance. I want to feel comfortable, but still like myself.

I usually wear my jeans again with a simple tee and the same lightweight jacket. A cap and sunglasses make everything feel effortless and practical, especially for early mornings.

Rewearing pieces is the key. London spring packing does not require a different outfit for every moment. It requires versatile pieces that work together.

My London Spring Packing Formula

For a short city break in London in spring, this is honestly enough:

One pair of wide leg jeans

Two tops

Two cardigans

One lightweight jacket

One pair of comfortable sneakers

One pair of flats

One structured handbag

One going-out bag

London style is practical, layered and effortless. If everything works together, getting dressed feels easy.
